Orion - Samsung Design Award - 2013

Orion est une application mobile qui revisite la synesthésie. Imaginé dans le cadre du concours Samsung Design Awards 2013. Ce projet fut retenu en tant que finaliste.

Orion, From Color to Sound est basé sur le lien entre multimédia, photographie et découverte musique. Le but est de capture les couleurs d'une photographie pour créer une palette coloré qui se transforme en playlist musical correspondant à l'atmosphere. La géolocalisation est utilisé aussi pour améliorer l'expérience en resituant la photo et les musique à un lieu.
Orion, From Color to Sound is based on an approach that links multimedia, photography and musical discovery. The purpose is to capture the colors of the photographs; to create a color palette that translates itself in a music playlist corresponding to the atmosphere. The idea is also to turn on the geolocator during the use to expand our musical playlist, which is based on the music culture of the place. This application leads to two main notions: discovery, through the music, but also a sharing between reality and imagination. In fact, we can share our playlist with people who are using the app.
This app concept was recognized as one of the finalists during the Samsung Design Award in 2013 in Paris, France, with just some drawings and sketches. It was a contest that allowed design school students and graduates under the age of 30 to share their creative ideas about the following subject: the Future of Communication.
This application leads to two main notions: discovery, through the music, but also a sharing between reality and imagination. In fact, we can share our playlist with people who are using the app.
